Heavy rainfall accompanied by rainstorms affected traffic in Constanta county on Thursday afternoon, with images on social media showing a layer of ice forming on the Bucharest-Constanta Highway.

In the images posted on Facebook, several drivers are seen stopping on the highway’s emergency lane, as a thick layer of ice formed on the road's Constanta-Ovidiu segment.

Traffic conditions remained similar to winter weather on the highway segment as of Thursday afternoon.

Constanta county was under a code orange warning for windstorms and hail for most of Thursday.
