    Drunken Passenger Prompts Emergency Landing In W Romania

    A Blue Air plane flying from Madrid to Bucharest made an emergency landing Monday night on the Airport in Arad, western Romania, as the flight commander decided to hand over to the authorities a drunk passenger.

    Arad aiport manager Dan Balacel told MEDIAFAX the plane had to make an emergency landing as a drunken passenger caused a row on board.

    The man, 30, was handed over to the authorities in Arad and then taken into the custody of the Transport Police, said Balacel.

    The man was fined 200 lei (EUR1=RON4.2903) for disturbing the peace and then released, said the Transport Police in Arad. He will be investigated for infringing the Air Code only if the representatives of low cost airliner Blue Air file a complaint against him.

    The Blue Air plane flying from Madrid to Bucharest took off 30 minutes after the man was taken off board.
