Hagi Borrows EUR4.2M From Romanian BRD For "Football Academy"
Romanian former football icon turned businessman Gheorghe Hagi signed two loan agreements with BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO), for EUR3.5 million and, respectively, EUR665,000, to finance some of the investments at his “Gheorghe Hagi” Football Academy.
"The football academy will be launched in summer 2011, following an overall investment of some EUR12 million," the academy's press officer, Ciprian Mihai, told MEDIAFAX Friday.
The structure will be built in southeastern Romania, on a 6.9-hectare plot.
Hagi, one of the most popular Romanian football players of all time, was 125 times selected for the national team, where he scored 35 goals.
