Health Minister Appoints Interim Medicines Agency Chief

Romanian Health Minister Victor Costache appointed Dr. Roxana Stroe as the new interim head of the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania (ANMDMR), until a new full-time chief will be appoint by contest.

In a statement, the Health ministry announced that Stroe will be tasked with achieving the agency’s objectives and organizing the selection strategy for the institution’s next chairman and deputy chairman.

The health minister requested the new ANMDMR chief to have the methodology for said selection to be validated with reputed specialists in the field.

Roxana Stroe is a pharmacology doctor and has been working within the agency since 2010. The decision was made after the term of the agency’s former chief Marius Sisu expired.
