Romania Surprised By Delayed Favorable Decision Regarding Schengen Entry - President

Romanian President Traian Basescu said Thursday Romania is surprised a decision allowing the country to join the border-free Schengen Area has not yet been taken, considering the country has met all requirements.

Speaking at a meeting with diplomats, the head of state pointed out that, although Romania raised the Schengen entry problem twice at the European Council, in October and December, a decision has not yet been made.
