    Romanian Liberal MP Questions Ballot Printing Contract Attribution

    Romanian liberal MP Horea Uioreanu accused the Government of having attributed, to a company close to the social democrats, the printing of voting ballots in the EP elections, without having organized an auction.

    Uioreanu said Tuesday in a press conference that the company Mega Press Holding also printed, several years back, school books under the previous mandate of Ecaterina Andronescu as education minister, and current Prime Minister Emil Boc was critical of this fact at that time.

    According to Uioreanu, Emil Boc, as president of the Cluj democrat liberals, had doubts in 2002 regarding the company in question, and its manager, which he said is "close to the Social Democratic Party".

    Uioreanu said he questions "the morality", not legality of the voting ballot printing contract attribution.
