    Romanian MPs Approve Nomination Of Theodor Paleologu For Culture Min

    The Romanian special parliamentary committees approved Saturday the nomination of Theodor Paleologu for the headship of the Culture, Cults and National Patrimony Ministry.

    His nomination was validated following secret voting, with 30 votes in favor and 12 against.

    Paleologu mentioned among his priorities the national patrimony, which must become a more dynamic domain, and the national minorities.

    “Let’s learn from the happy experience of the Program Sibiu – European Capital of Culture. I’d suggest (…) the idea of a program designating in each year a national cultural capital. In this way we would contribute to regional development,” Palologu said.
