    Romanian President Expected To Address Parliament Tuesday Afternoon

    Romania’s President Traian Basescu is expected to address Parliament Tuesday at 3 p.m., local time, on internal political issues, according to the schedule agreed by the standing offices of the Parliament’s two chambers.

    Senate queastor Ioan Chelaru said Monday Basescu had sent a letter to leaders of the two chambers of Parliament saying he wishes to address the legislature as soon as possible, even as soon as Tuesday, on matters of internal politics.

    Officials of the opposition Liberal and Social Democratic parties said their lawmakers would not attend the plenary meeting for the head of state's address.
