Romanian Social Democratic Party Committee Decides To Expel Senate President From Party

The Romanian Social Democratic Party's Arbitrage Committee on Sunday decided to expel Mircea Geoana, president of the Senate, from the party.

As Geoana held a short press conference before joining the Committee's session, Mariana Negoita, a Committee member, announced his dismissal had been decided.

Negoita said she was outraged that the decision was made without Geoana in the hearing. According to her, the committee voted 43 to 5, with two abstentions, for dismissal.
