Another challenge, filed by the Job Association against the Ministry of Tourism regarding the auction for the tourism brand, was rejected by the CNSC as lacking interest.

In addition, the CNSC decided the public procurement procedure will continue. The CNSC's decision can be appealed within 10 days since notification.

On July 23, the Ministry of Tourism suspended proceedings to select the winner of a EUR2 million contract to create the country's tourism brand, pending settlement of four challenges to the auction process, said minister Elena Udrea.

Speaking at the Mediafax Talks about Romanian Tourism conference, Udrea said the winner would be selected once the CNSC makes a decision in the case.

Early May, the Tourism Ministry said it received 13 bids to create a national tourism brand.

In June, the ministry shortlisted three consortia, namely SC TBWA Bucharest SRL - SC GFK Romania SRL; Saffron Brand Consultants SA - Brandient Consult SRL - Acacia Avenue Limited and THR, Asesores en Turismo, Hoteleria y Recreacion SA - Taylor Nelson Sofres SA.
