Vrancea County Councilor Resigns After Scandal Surrounding Edited Photo Of President

Vrancea County Councillor Constantin Guguianu announced his resignation from office on Monday, after he was at the center of a scandal during the weekend for posting an edited photo of President Klaus Iohannis dressed in a Nazi uniform on Facebook.

The councilor posted the edited image on his personal Facebook page, which quickly gathered attention as commenters pointed out the fact that he is breaking the law by spreading Nazi imagery.

PSD Vrancea representatives announced on Monday that Guguianu resigned from all of his party and public offices following the backlash, and the organization delimited itself from his actions.

Constantin Guguianu had been a Vrancea county councilor for more than 15 years, always running on the lists the Social Democrat Party.
