Cernavoda’s 2nd Reactor Resumes Ops

The second unit at Romania’s nuclear power station Cernavoda resumed operations Thursday, at full-capacity, subsequent to the 12-day final overhaul, Cernavoda’s operator Nucleareletrica said Friday.

The second unit at Cernavoda was shut down on October 19 for the final overhaul. The reactor has been running at full capacity for about 4 weeks.

The power plant in Cernavoda operates with two reactors, which provide a total supply of around 18% of the national electricity demand.
