EU-Swiss Agreement On Free Circulation For Romania, Bulgaria

Switzerland and the EU agreed on a protocol to extend free circulation for EU newcomers Romania and Bulgaria, stipulating a seven-year transitory period, according to Le Temps online.

During the seven-year period, which begins when the agreement is ratified, the country may choose to restrict access for immigrants from the two countries.

The ratification might take place after the referendum scheduled for spring 2009.
