IAR Ghimbav Signs Final Exclusive Collaboration Agreement with Airbus Helicopters

Romania's IAR Ghimbav has signed the final agreement for exclusive collaboration for the next 15 years with Airbus Helicopters for the production of H215M helicopters.

IAR will be the main contractor for H215M helicopters for any future order from the Romanian Defense Ministry, which seeks to replace its obsolete fleet.

Airbus and IAR have been partners for over 15 years in the joint-venture Airbus Helicopters Romania, in which Airbus owns 51% and IAR owns 49%. In 2016, Romania opened the Airbus Helicopters Industries factory for the production of H215M helicopters.
