Lazio Unsanctioned After Club’s Supporters Offended Romanian Footballer Mutu

FC Lazio Roma was not fined by the Sports Commission after the club’s supporters offended Romanian footballer Adrian Mutu, striker for AC Fiorentina, Italian agency Datasport reported.

Lazio’s fans called Mutu names and uttered racist slogans during the game of the XI stage of Italy’s Serie A, which Fiorentina won 1-0 against Lazio.

However, FC Juventus Torino was fined EUR20,000 for the fact that the club’s fans offended the Swedish striker of FC Internazionale Milano by calling him a “gipsy.”
