Romania Mutu Extends Contract With Fiorentina

Romania forward Adrian Mutu and Italy’s Serie A Fiorentina announced a two-year contract extension until 2013, ending rumors of a transfer to AS Roma, Italian agency Calciomercato said Saturday.

Under the new agreement, Fiorentina will pay their captain some EUR12 million in the next five years.

Mutu will cash in approximately EUR2.4 million a season playing for La Viola, from EUR1.6 million currently, Calciomercato said.
