Romanian linguist and former senator George Pruteanu, 61, died Thursday of a heart attack.

Romanian Linguist George Pruteanu Died

Born on December 15, 1947, Pruteanu was a university professor, politician and literary critic.
In 1996 he was elected senator for the Christian democratic PNTCD, but quit the party two years later. In 2000 he was again elected senator, as a member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD). In 2003, Pruteanu left the social democrats to join the far right Greater Romania Party (PRM).
