Romania has three sectors in which employees have certain tax benefits: IT, constructions and agriculture.

"We have ongoing programs, start-ups, we are trying to give them a side and for the Romanians who are abroad to have access to this platform, maybe they will come back to Romania. All these programs continue. Micro-enterprises, there is only one different approach of the Commission, the fact that they have become a kind of offshore within a state. You can't have offshore taxation on micro-enterprises, but let's solve the problems, the first five, no poverty, no hunger, education, infrastructure. So somewhere it's not working. And the Commission said, I understand, let's see where we gradually remove these exceptions. But the discussion and taking out the exceptions is not a brutal one, to spoil the activity", said Marcel Ciolacu.

The prime minister states that "no one will change anything that works".

"However, HORECA, the micro-enterprises, we are also coming back after a period of pandemic when they were supported with money from the budget to overcome that one and a half year in which they had no more activity. Hotels, restaurants, cinemas, theaters were closed. Then, the Romanian state came with a lot of funds, it returned almost 6% of the GDP to this area. No one will change anything that works. For me, the partnership with the social partner is very important. Mr. Jianu, since the PSD entered the government, is the president of the Guarantee, so the president of the SME is also at the Guarantee Fund, because he knows and made his team, we did not impose any team on him. Start-up Nation continues", concludes Ciolacu.
