Romania Net Average Salary Grows 5.1% on Month in December 2019

The average net salary in Romania grew 5.1% in nominal terms in December 2019 compared with November, to 3,340 lei (around EUR700), mainly due to end of the year bonuses, data from the country's statistics board showed Tuesday.

In real terms, the average net salary in Romania grew 4.7% on the month in December.

The gross average salary stood at RON5,465 in December, 5.2% higher than in November.

The best paid employees in December were in the IT&C sector, making a net average of RON7,689 a month, while the lowest paid employees were in clothing manufacturing, with an average RON1,853 a month.

Compared with December 2018, the average net monthly wage in Romania grew 13% in nominal terms and 8.6% in real terms.
