The minister also said he will ask the Government to create a reserve fund of around EUR200,000, for the possible evacuation of Romanian citizens from Japan.

The Romanian consular authorities in Japan received 137 requests for assistance by Wednesday.

The Fukushima I nuclear power plant, located in the area hit by an earthquake and tsunami on Friday, has six reactors, which are currently thought to be very unstable.
