Romanian Govt To Discuss Car Pollution Tax, Increase Tax On 8-9-Year Old Cars

Romania's Government will begin discussing the normative act establishing the car pollution tax for 2011 on Wednesday or next week, at the latest, said Environment Minister Laszlo Borbely, adding that the tax on "older cars" will be higher than was announced recently.

The minister said the Government will make some "small adjustments" to the tax, from the rates announced earlier and put up for public debate.

Borbely said the tax on eight-nine year old cars will likely be increased, but did not say by how much.
