Romanian laid off military staff have rallied Tuesday morning in Bucharest’s Victoriei square to show solidarity with the anti-government protesters who have been demonstrating countrywide for almost two weeks.

Romanian Laid Off Military Staff Rally For Anti-Government Protest In Bucharest

The union of Romanian laid off military staff, which organized the protest, said 10,000 people are expected to participate in the demonstration.

After the protest, unionists will march from Victoriei square through the Aviatorilor Boulevard to Dorobantilor Avenue.

About 1,000 unionists affiliated to union federation Sanitas will also join street demonstrations, said Sanitas vice-president Marius Sepi.

Romania has been the scene of anti-government protests for about two weeks. People rallied countrywide demanding the president and the Government to resign and voicing out their anger at the entire political class. The opposition also organized anti-government protests last week, urging for early elections.
