Romanian Meat Processor Aldis’ Owner Dies In Motorboat Accident

George Naghi, owner of meat processor Aldis, based in Calarasi, southeastern Romania, died Sunday afternoon in a motorboat accident on Danube River arm Borcea.

The Romanian businessman was in the boat with his wife, who suffered severe injuries and was rushed to hospital.

According to authorities investigating the accident, the motorboat, which was driven by the businessman, hit the riverbank and the two were hurled out of the boat.

Aldis, an investment of about EUR70 million, is one of Romania's top meat product manufacturers. The business is controlled by Naghi and his wife.
