Romanian Opp Liberals, Social Democrats Take First Steps To Forming Political Alliance

Romanian opposition Liberal Party president Crin Antonescu on Monday told a joint news conference with social democrat leader Victor Ponta that his party’s Standing Delegation will vote on forming a political alliance with the Social Democratic Party on February 5.

Ponta said he will propose a medium or long term political alliance with liberals during the meeting of his party's National Council on February 5.

Antonescu and Conservative Party leader Daniel Constantin have recently signed a Protocol on a Center-Right Alliance and the two parties' attorneys filed the request for the legal registration of the alliance.
