Romanian President Traian Basescu said on public television late Wednesday he admires people in the ruling coalition for their patience and determination to keep their alliance strong, adding the coalition took the right anti-crisis measures and will likely stay in power until the 2012 elections.

"I admire people in the coalition for their patience to keep it solid," Basescu said.

The head of state added he is of the opinion the center-right government took the right measures for a year of crisis and he sees the coalition staying in power until the end of its term, in 2012.
