Romanian State-Owned Power Companies To Lay Off 1,500 People

Six Romanian state-owned energy firms will lay off a total 1,480 employees this year, or 5% of their overall staff, in a bid to boost efficiency, according to a draft government decision of the Economy Ministry, the companies' major shareholder.
