Three more deaths in patients infected with Covid-19. The death toll reaches 85

The Strategic Communication Group announced three new deaths in Romania in patients confirmed with the new coronavirus on Wednesday. These are patients between the ages of 45 and 82, from Bucharest and Timiş. The total number of deaths registered in Romania reaches 85.

According to GCS, this is a 54-year-old woman from Bucharest, who died 45 minutes after arriving at the emergency unit (UPU).

"The patient died at 45 minutes after presenting in UPU-SUU Bucharest (presentation on March 29, 2010 at 23.45, passed away on March 30, 2013 at 0.15). Confirmed with COVID-19 on 30.03.2020. The patient also had hospitalizations in SUUB between 03.03-10.03.2020 in the Internal Medicine Section and during 10-26.03.2020, in the Thoracic Surgery Section. The patient was known to have terminal ovarian neoplasm. According to the information received from SUUB during this period, the patient did not present any infectious pathology", transmitted GCS.

The second death announced Wednesday is an 85-year-old man from Timis county. He was admitted to the Timişoara Military Clinical Hospital on March 23, and the first test was negative for COVID-19 on March 25. During the night of March 26 to 27, his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to ATI, where new samples were collected and confirmed with the new coronavirus on March 27. The same day, the man was transferred to ATI at the V. Babeş Timişoara Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases. He suffered from diabetes, high blood pressure, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, chronic kidney failure and Alzheimer's. The death was recorded on Tuesday.

Also, a 63-year-old woman from Bucharest died. She was admitted to ATI at INBI Matei Balş on March 23, intubated, ventilated. She was confirmed positive with the new coronavirus on March 24.

She was on dialysis, and, according to GCS, had come into contact with a case confirmed by COVID-19 at a private dialysis centre. She also suffered from CIC, HTA, chronic kidney disease and hypothyroidism. The death was recorded on Wednesday.

According to the GCS, the total number of deaths registered in Romania in patients confirmed with COVID-19 reaches 85.
