Astra Vagoane Calatori Ceases Collaboration With Siemens For Tramway Constr Proj

Romanian railway construction and repair company Astra Vagoane Calatori Arad ceased "any collaboration" with Siemens for the tramway construction project, Valer Blidar, the company’s owner, stated Wednesday.

The negotiations between the two companies started several months ago and were ceased Monday, as the two parties failed to agree on the terms of the contract.

On Saturday, the two companies should have signed the contract in the presence of Romanian President Traian Basescu.

According to Blidar, Astra Vagoane Calatori will not give up the tramway construction project, and will come up with its own prototype at mid 2010.
