Austrian Airlines Flight Lands In Romania Due To Fire On Board

An Austrian Airlines flight coming from Vienna landed Wednesday in the eastern Romanian city of Iasi following a fire that broke out in the pilots’ cabin, said airport manager Marian Vasile, adding no one was injured.

The plane was carrying a few dozen passengers, who had to use oxygen masks during landing maneuvers. None of the passengers or crew members were injured.

"Passengers were taken off the plane quickly and are now within the airport. The causes of the incident are yet unknown," Vasile said.

The plane was supposed to fly back to Vienna this afternoon.
