The European Commission’s report on Romania, due for release tomorrow (July 23), will most likely leave out a section that would condition Romania’s accession to Schengen and Euro areas by its progresses in fighting corruption, EC sources said Tuesday.

They said the section was unnecessary, as the accession to the Euro zone and the Schengen area is not related to the EU Cooperation and Verification Mechanism.

However, the section could still be included in the final version of the country report, the mentioned sources said.
