A World War II aviation bomb was discovered, Friday afternoon, on an island in Bucharest’s Tei Lake, as it had been brought up by an excavator digging in the area, police spokesperson Christian Ciocan told MEDIAFAX.

He added that the 112 call was made by a man around 15:48 local time, and officers with police station 7 and the bomb squad of the Civil Protection Unit Ciolpani went at the site.

The bomb is 1.5 meters long and has a 40 centimeter diameter, the quoted source added.
