Hydrologists Issue Code Red Flood Alert For Prut River, E Romania, Valid Until Monday

Romanian hydrologists on Sunday issued a code red flood alert for the Prut River, in eastern Romania along the border with Moldova, until Monday, 4 p.m., as dam-held waters must be released and the river’s level is expected to increase and reach nearly 470 cubic meters per second.

The code red flood alert will be maintained for the Prut's Falciu-Danube sector crossing eastern Romanian counties of Vaslui and Galati.

The code yellow flood alert will be maintained for the Prut's sectors Ungheni and Dranceni-Falciu crossing northeastern Romanian counties of Botosani and Iasi and eastern county of Vaslui.
