Hydrologists Issue Code Yellow Flood Alert For W, SW Romania

Romanian hydrologists issued a code yellow flood alert valid Thursday morning through Friday afternoon for rivers in the western and southwestern parts of the country, due to precipitation expected in the upcoming 36 hours.

Hydrologists warned that precipitation could cause rivers in western and southwestern Romania to overflow their banks.

The rivers under flood alert are Crasna, Barcau, Crisul Negru, Crisul Alb, Timis and its tributaries, Barzava, Moravita, Caras, Nera and Cerna, Desnatui, Jiu and its tributaries and the river Olt's tributaries.
