LA-Bound Flight Lands In Bucharest As Passenger Has Heart Attack On Board

A Los Angeles bound flight had an emergency landing in Bucharest Thursday morning after an American passenger suffered a heart attack on board, Bucharest airport spokesman Valentin Iordache said.

The passenger suffered a heart attack while the plane was above Turkey and the crew requested permission to land urgently in Bucharest, said Iordache.

The American passenger, 54, was stabilized by the airport's medical team and taken to hospital.

The flight, which had 276 passengers on board and was flying from Tel Aviv to Los Angeles, was resumed three hours after the emergency landing and air traffic was not disrupted, Iordache added.
