One Romanian Dead, Ten Injured In Turkey Bus Crash

One Romanian national has died and ten others are injured following an accident Saturday on a highway in Turkey, involving a tourist bus carrying 36 passengers, the Romanian Foreign Ministry said Sunday.

The ministry said a serious accident occurred Saturday on the highway linking Istanbul to Edirne, in western Turkey, that involved a bus carrying 36 tourists.

Eleven Romanian citizens were injured in the crash and one of them died later in the hospital.

Turkish authorities have opened an investigation, the ministry also said, adding the Romanian Interior Ministry is in close contact with Turkish authorities.
