Online Gay TV Station To Be Launched In Romania On Oct 1

"It is the first television station dedicated to the gay community in Romania. We have also considered an audiovisual license, but the expenses would be too high, which is why we decided to pace ourselves, starting online. Angelicuss TV will be an information project for the gay community, and it will joint the online magazine and newsletter we currently hold," said Dunareanu, who is also the director of the association "Be An Angel Romania."

The new television’s crew is formed of ten volunteers.

"The investment is not high, as the logistics were donated by a gay organization in Germany,” Dunareanu stated.

The server will, however, cost some money and we also have production expenses. This is an investment of some 10,000 lei (EUR1 = RON3.5455)," Dunareanu explained.

The TV Angelicuss shows will include “I’m different” stories, news bulletins regarding the gay community, reports from gay clubs in the country and movies.

At the same time, the television station will also supply information from gay community events, including the Gay Film Festival, which will be organized in October in northwestern Romanian city Cluj.

According to Dunareanu, Angelicuss TV will not broadcast obscene movies or material.

At the moment, the Angelicuss TV website, http://www.tvangelicuss.beanangel.ro/, is undergoing tests.
