Railway Traffic Halted In SW Romania As Freight Train Derails

Railway traffic between southern Craiova and western Timisoara was halted Tuesday after a freight train derailed in Valea Alba, Mehedinti county, southwestern Romania.

Local railway company manager Victor Frasinoi said the accident occurred around 5:30 a.m., when a wagon of a freight train jumped track. No one was injured.

Railway traffic on the Craiova-Timisoara route is expected to be resumed around noon.
