Rocket Attack Injures Two Romanian Troops In Afghanistan

Two Romanian troops were injured in a rocket attack on their military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan, Romania’s Defense Ministry said Monday.

Sergeant-Majors Sergiu Hulpoi and Mihai Paduraru were taken to the military hospital in Kandahar and they are stable. Paduraru was released from hospital Monday morning, while Hulpoi remained under medical watch.

Romania decided last week to deploy 600 additional troops to Afghanistan, bringing the total number to nearly 1,800 Romanian troops in Afghanistan, part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.
