Romania 1Q Investments Dn 0.3% On Year To RON12.77B

Investments in Romania fell 0.3% on the year in the first quarter, to 12.77 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.1891), according to the data released Tuesday by the National Statistical Institute, or INS.

Divided by category, in the first quarter of the year, investments in equipment, including transport means, decreased by 11.3%, investments in new constructions rose 9.2%, and other expenses rose 23.9%.

The INS said investments were mainly pumped into industry, trade/services (real estate deals, retail and wholesale sectors, automotive repairs), agriculture and constructions.
