Romania Jan-July New Car Sales Dn 52.5% YY To 82,821 Units

New car sales in Romania fell 52.2% on the year to 82,821 units in the first seven months, the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association, or APIA, said in a statement Thurday.

In January-July 2008, new car sales stood at 174,414 units.

On the month, car sales fell 4% in July to 12,211 units, APIA said.

Romania’s overall car market (including cars, commercial vehicles and buses) dropped 56.1% on the year to 92,526 units in January-July.

In 2008, Romanian car market fell 11.7% on the year to 324,080 units.
