Romania’s lower chamber adopted Tuesday the draft Criminal Procedure Code, with several amendments, and a final vote on the bill is expected later in the day.

After it passes the vote of the Chamber of Deputies, the bill will be analyzed by the Senate.

Romania's President Traian Basescu sent a letter Monday to the presidents of the two chambers of the country's Parliament, renewing his demand that the Civil and Criminal Procedure Codes be adopted before the beginning of summer recess.
