Romanian weather authorities issued Monday morning a code yellow advisory for heavy rainfall for northern, eastern, central, south-central and part of southeastern Romania, valid until Tuesday night.

Meteorologists expect gusty wind, thunderstorms, hail and heavy rainfall of 25 to 40 liters per square meter.

Romania has been severely hit by floods over the past two weeks and twenty-three people have died, while thousands others have been forced to flee their homes.
