Constantinescu was nominated Ambassador to Chisinau on Wednesday, after incumbent ambassador Filip Teodorescu was expelled from Moldova and declared persona non grata.

Moldovan president Vladimir Voronin ordered Teodorescu be expelled following allegation of Romanian meddling in the violent protests in Moldovan capital Tuesday.
