Romanian Capital Holds Election For Chamber Of Deputies Seat
Over 44,500 registered voters in a constituency in Romania’s capital Bucharest are expected at the polls Sunday to elect their new representative in the Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies after liberal Bogdan Olteanu resigned last year to be deputy governor of the country’s central bank.

Voters have to choose between the governing party's candidate, democrat liberal Honorius Prigoana, and the opposition's candidate, liberal Radu Stroe. Polls opened at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m..
The capital's electoral bureau said little over 1,000 people, or 2.84% of voters, including the two contenders, had voted by 10 a.m..
