Romanian Democrat Liberal Lawmaker Valeriu Tabara Accepts Position Of Agriculture Minister

Romanian democrat liberal lawmaker Valeriu Tabara on Thursday told MEDIAFAX that he accepted the position of agriculture minister, following talks with Prime Minister Emil Boc who came up with the proposition.

Tabara declined, however, to speak about his objectives as agriculture minister and stressed he will do that once he is certain he will be appointed to the position.

Tabara currently heads the agriculture committee within the Chamber of Deputes and was minister of agriculture between 1994 and 1996.

If appointed to the position, Tabara will replace Agriculture Minister Mihail Dumitru, who was sacked Thursday.
