Romania’s Ministry of Economy and Finance will transfer EUR100 million in an open account of the European Investment Fund, sum that represents the country’s financial contribution to the European fund destined to help small and medium sized enterprises, or SMEs.

A government decision approved on Wednesday stipulates that the funding will be ensured from pre-financing funds received from the European Commission.

The SMEs’ fund was set up at the request of the European Commission.
