Romanian Freight Railway Co CFR Marfa Puts 40% Of Employees On Tech Unemployment

Romanian freight railway company CFR Marfa will put 40% of its employees on technical unemployment for three months as of July 1, company manager Calin Gratian said Tuesday.

Employees on technical unemployment will receive 75% of their wages.

"As of tomorrow, 40% of the staff will be on technical unemployment. The measure is temporary, for three months, but could be extended depending on how things evolve,” Gratian said during a press conference.

CFR Marfa is state-owned and employs 17,500 people.
