Romanian ID Cards To Include Citizenship, Eliminate Parents’ Names

Romanian ID cards will include citizenship of the owner and will eliminate data regarding the first names of the owner’s parents, according to a recently approved government decision.

The decision amends government decision 839/2006 regulating the form and content of identification documents.

ID cards already issued remain valid until expiry. New ID cars will continue to include information such as personal identification code, place of birth and address.
