Romanian jazz musician Johnny Raducanu died Monday morning in his home in Bucharest, National Theater manager Ion Caramitru told MEDIAFAX. He was 79.

Caramitru said Raducanu "was very ill," and died at home.

Over the past year, Raducanu and Caramitru played together in the show "Dialogues and fantasies in jazz" at the National Theater in Bucharest.

Raducanu's career spans over half a century.
