Romanian Judoka Alina Dumitru Wins Gold At Euro Champs In Vienna

Romanian judoka Alina Dumitru won the gold medal in the -48 kg category of the European Judo Championship in Vienna, Austria.

This is Dumitru's sixth gold won in a European championship. She also took home the gold in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

In Vienna, Dumitru began by winning the D pool, after defeating Lisa Kearnay (Ireland) and Charline Van Snick (Belgium). In the semifinals, she overcame Spanish Oiana Blanco, and in the final defeated Hungarian Eva Csernoviczki through ippon, with 35 seconds left on the clock.
